We have teamed up with renowned professional photographer Richard de Gouveia to offer our guests tailored photographic safaris to Welgevonden Game Reserve. You will be hosted at one of our private game lodges for a two-night photographic safari and workshop which will include lectures, game drives and an evening capturing the African night sky.

I can still remember where I was standing at the age of seven years old when I said, “I want to be a guide when I grow up!” Many years later after finishing school and going through university studying environmental management, I ended up working the corporate world conducting environmental impact assessments which were extremely interesting but there was something missing from my life… Passion. It took a long time to decide whether or not to go into guiding but eventually I made up my mind and took the plunge.

After completing my 6 month live-in course in guiding I then started working at a private lodge in Kruger National Park called Tinga and within a year had been offered a position at the prestigious Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. For the next 5 years I immersed myself in the incredible bushveld that is Sabi Sabi. The amazing things I saw, the fantastic people I met and the education I gained propelled my career forward. I became the assistant head ranger for the company and held this position for just over two years.
